Lydia & Michael’s Wedding at Colwick Hall Hotel Nottingham

Timeless Elegance Meets Pure Romance

Some venues just feel like they were made for love stories, and Colwick Hall Hotel in Nottingham is one of them. With its sweeping grounds, Georgian architecture, and stunning interiors, it set the stage for Lydia and Michael’s unforgettable wedding day.

As a candid and creative wedding photographer, I always look for places that allow both intimate moments and grand celebrations to shine — and Colwick Hall delivered in every way.

The Morning Preparations

The day began in the elegant bridal suite, where Lydia got ready surrounded by laughter, emotion, and a touch of calm before the excitement ahead. The natural light pouring into the room gave her portraits a soft, timeless glow. Meanwhile, Michael and his groomsmen prepared nearby, full of anticipation and energy.

The Ceremony

Set in Colwick Hall’s romantic ceremony room, Lydia and Michael exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends. The chandeliers above, the stately details of the room, and the palpable emotion in the air made this moment one to remember. Lydia’s entrance was nothing short of breathtaking, and Michael’s reaction said it all.

Reception Highlights

After the ceremony, guests spilled out into the gardens for candid moments, laughter, and champagne toasts. The grand marquee reception was filled with elegant décor, heartfelt speeches, and a dance floor that came alive as the evening went on.

Photographic highlights included:

  • Golden hour portraits in the gardens, capturing the couple’s love against a glowing sunset
  • Candid laughter and emotion during speeches that had everyone in tears (of joy!)
  • The couple’s first dance, framed by the marquee lights and a sea of smiling faces

Final Thoughts

Lydia and Michael’s wedding was the perfect combination of romance, elegance, and joy. Colwick Hall Hotel provided a setting that felt both timeless and welcoming, making every photograph a treasure.

To Lydia and Michael — thank you for trusting me with your day. It was an honour to capture your love story in such a beautiful space.
